"Clinical Driver Evaluations" has been approved by GOTA's Continuing

Education Program for 10 direct contact hours.

After completion of the 10 hour course, participants should be able to:

Apply knowledge of medical conditions with implications to driving
Assess the cognitive, visual, perceptual, behavioral and physical limitations that may impact driving performance
Integrate the clinical findings with assessment of on-road performance
Synthesize client and caregiver needs and assist in decisions about available options
Coordinate with multidisciplinary providers to provide resources related to the needs of clients.

Course description:

The 2017 HMI Symposium will cover an assortment of topics for a variety of practitioners. Attendees will learn about shoulder exam techniques, post-operative care for trauma patients, when does it become necessary to refer to a spine surgeon, treatment options for hand fractures and rehab for the specialized therapy areas such as lymphedema, pelvic floor, and balance/vestibular rehab.
