"Clinical Driver Evaluations" has been approved by GOTA's Continuing

Education Program for 10 direct contact hours.

After completion of the 10 hour course, participants should be able to:

Apply knowledge of medical conditions with implications to driving
Assess the cognitive, visual, perceptual, behavioral and physical limitations that may impact driving performance
Integrate the clinical findings with assessment of on-road performance
Synthesize client and caregiver needs and assist in decisions about available options
Coordinate with multidisciplinary providers to provide resources related to the needs of clients.

Continuing Education Approval

GOTA Continuing Education Course Approval

The Continuing Education Review Committee is a sub-committee of the GOTA Education Committee. Members are appointed by the President of GOTA. The Committee’s purpose is to review courses submitted by CEU providers, who wish to have their educational offerings pre-approved for content and hours according to Georgia Licensure Board standards. There is a fee for this service, and though approval does not guarantee acceptance by the Georgia OT Licensure Board, historically, they have accepted GOTA’s recommendations on courses.

Requirements:

Course Details
Course Objectives/Measurable Outcomes
Speaker/s Bio and Detailing qualifications
Method for monitoring attendance (i.e.: sign-in sheet, virtual sign-in, early departures etc.)
A copy of the certificate of completion
Copy of the program evaluation to be completed by the participants
Program brochure for advertising: (includes: Course description, Date/time, Contact Hours)

*** Only minor revisions to the course —such as changes to dates or venue—may be made without additional committee approval. Additional revisions require resubmission and committee approval. Please email us at [email protected] with any questions. ***
